I have a problem with avast. I did all the register things and it wont let me do schedule boot time scan please help me.

no difference. Home is the same as pro however some of pro's features have been disabled. You can just enable them. And the other difference is price :). Dont fall for it. Save $50 and enable Pro's stuff yourself.

Ok I tried the boot time scan and around 8% the computer decided to restart on me.Tried it again and same thing happened except it didnt even make it past 0%.As for the Combofix,that looks way out of my league.Should I uninstall/reinstall avast or there any other options?

Avast would not cause your pc to do that stuff.
try setting up a boot time scan and see if it finds anything that way, you could also do a google search for "combofix" it has been a pretty good utility for virus fixing. |
